'The Way of The Kresh'
This is the original story which led to a series of short stories on the Nuketown website. Written over 6 years ago, the series
now forms the basis of a multi-book space opera which I am currently writing. The first scene of the story came to me on the
tram ride back from an Aurealis Award ceremony in Melbourne. I was fired up by seeing all the winners receive their awards
and accolades and wanted to do something that might be as good. It wasn't, of course, but it might be one day.
Blurb - Without warning the Kresh homeworld is invaded by the Earth-backed Hegemony. Jeldon the Kresh envoy is captured
and horribly mutilated by the Earthers. His world in ruins and his friends murdered, death seems the only option...

This story appeared in the first Agog! anthology, Agog! Fantastic Fiction (thanks Cat!). I've always loved time travel stories,
but thought I couldn't come up with an original idea, until my son, Callum, suggested that backwards time travel would
comprise a series of 'bumps' which would make the traveller younger and younger. I still owe Callum half the proceeds of this
story.
