The service is run by Keith Stevenson, speculative fiction editor and author. Keith has read and written speculative fiction for over 35 years, worked as submissions manager and later editor of Aurealis Magazine - Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy, and is now a partner in the speculative fiction publishing imprint coeur de lion. During that time he's assessed and worked with many established and beginning authors. He was the Director of the Aurealis Awards for three years, and convenor of the Aurealis Award Science Fiction judging panel. Keith has given talks and contributed to panels on speculative fiction and writing both for the EnVision Writers workshop, state Writer's Centres, and at numerous conventions including Continuum, Conflux, and ConJure. He has also served as a manuscript assessor for Clarion South.
How do I get started? If you have a query, please use the Assessment Contact page. Otherwise, email the first three chapters of your story as a .doc or .rtf file and a brief synopsis to Keith. He'll do a preliminary assessment at no cost and contact you to discuss next steps. But remember, we only handle Speculative Fiction manuscripts.
